ADMISSION DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT
At no time will Hebron International College, in any of its policies and procedures, discriminate based on race, age, religion, gender, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or any other factor protected by law.
Admission Requirements
All applicants must meet admissions requirements to be eligible for entry to the school.
- An interview with HIC Administration representative.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- The applicant must satisfy one of the following requirements in order to be considered for admission:
- A student in possession of a high school diploma, or its equivalent (G.E.D.)
- A foreign student without a U.S. high school diploma or GED providing documentation of having
- completed secondary level education or a self-certifying statement that secondary level education has been
- completed in a foreign country.
- Had achieved satisfactory academic progress (an overall GPA of at least 2.0)
- Submit Official transcripts.
- Provide a copy of photo identification card.
- Payment of registration fee ($150)
- Submit an Application for Admission.
- Submit a complete Enrollment Agreement.
- Submit Interview Acknowledgement Form.
- Provide proof of Clearance of physical health signed by a physician.
- Provide Criminal background checks including fingerprints. (The results are reviewed as part of the Admission process and may be grounds for denying a student admission).
Additional Admission Requirements for Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Pass the ATI TEAS entrance exam with a minimum passing score of 70%.
Additional Admission Requirements for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Pass the ATI Nursing Entrance Test with a net composite score of at least 65% for RN.
- Applicant must submit official school transcript documenting any previous work, with a minimum GPA of C average when requesting credit for general education courses previously taken at the associate degree level or higher.
- Applicant who already have an LPN/ Respiratory Therapists, EMT, Paramedic license must submit official school transcript from the program attended.
- Applicant who holds an LPN/Respiratory Therapists, EMT and Paramedic license and requests credit for previous courses taken, must take and pass, prior to graduation, a Professional Nursing ATI exam with a proficiency Level 2 or higher for each designated nursing course being waived.
- Applicants who hold an LPN, Respiratory Therapists, EMT and Paramedic license must provide proof of current, unencumbered LPN, Respiratory Therapists, EMT and Paramedic licensure in Florida.
- FDLE criminal background check. Less than 5 years in Florida, FBI investigation required
Additional Admission Requirements for Bachelor of Science (RN TO BSN)
- Applicants must have an active RN Professional Nursing license, and have completed an Associate of Nursing Program, evidenced by program transcripts.
- Applicant must present a verifiable professional nurse’s license at the RN level. The license must be non-delinquent, active and free of disciplinary action.
- Applicant must present employment history.
- Applicant must present three professional references.
- The institution must receive applicant’s official transcripts from the institution from which they received their associate degree in nursing. This degree must show at a minimum the completion of 60 semester credits with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a scale of 4. The associate degree must have been earned at a program approved by the Florida Board of Nursing at the date it was conferred.
- Students who received a grade less than a 2.5 in any and all courses leading to the associate degree in nursing may not be considered for admission, unless the course was an elective, non[1]nursing related, and did not bring the total credits below a total of 60 semester credits towards the degree completion.
- Applicant must perform a phone or teleconference interview with the program director for an official interview
Additional Admission Requirements for Practical Nursing
- legal alien with student visa or equivalent (I-20)
- Minimum TABE advance scores (200 or above).
- Submit a Professional Goal Statement • Submit an essay of 2 pages with reason for wanting to become a nurse.
- Two reference letters • Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certificate.
- Must submit completed physical exam, signed by physician on Caregiver Education school form to include immunizations, HBV series or signed refusal, negative PPD result or chest x-ray.
- FDLE criminal background check. Less than 5 years in Florida, FBI investigation required.
